Learning About Mixed Martial Arts And The UFC
Most people are aware of what the MMA is at this point. This style of fighting is popular all around the world and actually involves the use of several different styles of fighting. It was the UFC and in particular the television show of the UFC which truly made mixed martial arts fighting more mainstream. Most people were first introduced to mixed martial arts fighting and what it was all about through the UFC television show. Soon more and more people were taking an interest in mixed martial arts fighting and it is now more popular than boxing, wrestling, kickboxing and other sports because it is a mixture of them all. That includes Muay Thai kickboxing, wrestling and judo as the main types of martial arts used. They are more interesting to watch because instead of just seeing a few different moves you will see different fighters using several different styles of fighting in a single match. It makes things much more interesting and challenging for all fighters involved.
All MMA fights they take place inside of what is known as an octagon, which is an eight-sided cage. In order to get a win a fighter must either knock his opponent out or cause him to tap by submission. The basic rules are that one fighter can get a win either by knocking the other fighter out or by causing him to tap himself out due to a submission. In certain fights there will be five rounds or the times may be different, but this is the standard fight length.
If neither fighter gets knocked out or submits, then at the end of the fight it is up to the judges to make the decision on who they thought won the fight overall. They watch the fight carefully and make notes as they go, in the event that both fighters were to make it to the end. There are some huge names in the UFC now who are pros at MMA fighting and who have really made a name for themselves, such as Anderson Silva and Matt Hughes. In order to fight in MMA fights, an athlete must have stamina and not just worry about the physical side of things if they want to make it through a possible fifteen minutes of intense fighting.
Mixed martial arts fighting was pretty much unheard of just a few years ago. It is one of the most popular sports of today and certainly one of the most enjoyable to watch, as long as you do not mind a bit of brutality. Fighters start off as amateurs in the MMA and if they are able to win fights and continue on to become popular and successful in the sport they can work their way up to becoming a pro fighter. It is assumed that the popularity of this sport as well as the depth of it will only continue to grow as time goes on. The information was given by an inspirational speaker who was once a dealer of garden supplies as well as flower delivery NZ.
heavy bag or muay thai bag?
im training for mma,boxing,ufc.. should i get a normal heavy bag or a muay thai bag or both?
If you are training for mma and will use your hands, elbows, feet, and knees then abosolutely go with a Muay Thai bag. To train combos that flow and have power while changing levels (high and low) there is nothing better than a MT bag.
That and the fact that you can clinch and throw full power knees into it, then come off and blast with elbows and go back to the clinch. You can't do that with a training partner - even if they have on a bellypad and/or are using thai pads.
(You can work the clinch with a partner, focusing more on unbalancing, then going thru' the motions of striking)
Overall, the Muay Thai bag is more versatile so you get more bang for your buck.
