Miniature Novelties
Three Tricks to be Succesful at Your Next Trade Show!
Do potential clients still attend trade shows? Do companies still exhibit in trade shows? Are custom trade show displays worth it?
Yes, yes, and yes. Trade shows are pricey, difficult work, and catalogs are available on the web. So why are trade shows surviving?
The obvious response is simple: people like to socialize. On the company dime you can travel, trade stories with your associates and clients, take a while off to go shopping, and excuse your break from your workout regimen and dieting rules.
How do you take advantage of your interested audience? Commission a custom trade show display designed to take human characteristics and feelings into account.
The 3 F's of trade show design are simple: Feet, Food, and Fantasy.
Have you found a foot-friendly exhibition hall? You walk miles up and back down the aisles on the standard carpeting, and you wonder whether they even heard about padding. The tired walkers, by hour three, wish they would have worn the athletic shoes they left in the hotel room.
Therefore the obvious first need for custom trade show displays should be something soft on the Floor. The topmost material that comes to mind is carpeting. It has got to be soft, thick, and inviting while not tripping the tired hiker on the way into the booth. Easy to handle: be sure the padding along the edges of your display booth carpet is thin enough to allow for a gradual slope upon entry (BIG hint - it's called a "beveled" edge!).
In place of carpeting, what about resilient flooring? The manufacturer of the custom display can provide an array of soft, rubbery flooring. Not merely will the flooring stick out from the mix because it will be glossy and smooth, but if carefully selected, it will probably even look expensive.
Food is the second F. In simple language feed the people. There are an enormous amount of methods to attract visitors with food that they should not bear discussing, however let your supplier of custom trade show displays incorporate a feeding strategy. Some of the best: ice cream novelties from a portable refrigerator, coffee in any form (cappuccino is the best), popcorn from one of the easily got free standing popcorn machines, tiny candy bars or bags of M & M's. To get the best mileage from the food offerings, be sure your company name, logo, and booth number are in place on the container, simply accomplished with a sticker.
Fantasy is the 3rd and possibly the most important "F". Think Disney. Bright colors, music, dcor will push the fantasy. It is not relevant if you will be selling children's toys or pharmaceuticals, bright color sells. Interesting color talks at the register. If the provider of your custom trade show displays claims they do not comprehend why you want fantasy, leave the company in the dust and find someone who clearly understands salesmanship.
You are showing at the trade show, you had to have budgeted the expense, you have lassoed your people and taught them to work the show, so you might as well get the most mileage you can. Be sure the maker of your custom trade show displays understands that "F" is the most significant letter in the alphabet.

Have a Great Weekend Here in the Big H!!!!!!!!! Thanks Ken
Hmmm... if Hobby Lobby or Michaels don't have them... I don't know. You might talk to some store managers and see whether they could order them.
What if you used jelly beans on toothpicks? Would that look enough like baloons to work? You know, if you ran out of time.
When I was a kid (and we didn't have a lot of money so we made our own toys and games) sometimes we'd get a baloon that eventually would pop. I'd take a large piece of it and carefully (so as not to choke myself) put it over my mouth and inhale... making a small baloon. I didn't remember that until just now. Amazing what kids will do... but hey, a cheap pack of baloons and a little time... and ... you never know.
