Pet Insurance Northern Ireland

Pets do not play the same role in our lives as they did years ago. Today pets, particularly dogs and cats, are considered are thought of as members of the family and as such, we want to know that they’re protected against illness or accidents that may cause high vet bills. If you’re looking for good pet insurance Northern Ireland can offer a choice of different types of policies to ensure your pet is always protected.

Taking Care of Your Pet Can Be Costly

Along with the rise in popularity of pets as the years have gone by the cost of looking after them has also risen. You may easily spend up to £12,000 on your pet in a lifetime. As some types of pets, dogs for instance, can live many years, your outlay may add up to quite a sum. However, because we love our pets, we want to make sure we provide them with excellent health care should the need arise.

Factors to consider when looking for pet insurance

The first step in finding good pet insurance in Northern Ireland is knowing what type of coverage you need and what you can afford. There are basic policies you can purchase, which may offer you what you consider adequate insurance against the most common vet bills. However, because they’re just basic policies, they’re probably not going to provide coverage when you need it the most.

Routine care and examinations for our pets may not be an expense we like to pay, but they’re not that expensive. The types of vet bills that can become overwhelming are for an emergency stemming from an accident or an illness that needs immediate attention. Having immediate medical care for your pet may mean the difference between you losing your pet and it recovering and living a happy, healthy life.

Look for coverage that has premiums you can afford to pay but still provides good coverage for possible large vet bills. Will they drop coverage when your pet gets older? Do they have a large deductible or excess amount you have to pay before your chosen insurance provider will begin to pay? Will they provide you with physical liability if you’re away from home? Are there exclusions (things they will not cover)? Any of these questions should be asked before you rush into taking out your pet insurance policy.

Ways to Save Money on Pet Insurance

  • Shop around for the best pet insurance for your money.
  • Insure your pet when it’s young as start up insurance is more costly for older pets.
  • Check for introductory premiums is you apply online.
  • Ask your home or car insurance provider if they offer pet insurance and if so are you able to get it cheaper if you buy all your insurance products together.
  • Whatever you do, do not drop one policy until you’ve found one that’s less expensive with the same or better coverage.

What is the difference between ...?

Park and neutral in an automatic car ....

and 1 and 2 on the gear thing, I thought automatic cars only had 1 forward gear ???

How much more expensive is it to run an automatic car ?? I dont really know coz here in Ireland, auto cars are not so common, I'm 17 and I passed my test just a few hours ago, woohoo !!! so I want to get a car .. and need some advice from people ...

THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO ANSWERS !!

In an automatic transmission, the Park engages a mechanism in the transmission that prevents the gears to move. the neutral in an automatic car is like neutral in an manual car, no gear is selected so the car can run free.

as for the 1 and 2 "gear thing".

Automatic cars have gears just like a manual car. Its just selected automatically, hence "auto". so you basicly see,

Drive is for normal driving, and 2 and 1 is the lower gears you can select for certain driving conditions. Like driving up hill or towing. It usually calls for a lower gear.
