What Is A Muay Thai Bag?
Muay Thai is a popular martial arts form from Indochina. It has become quite the popular sport in Thailand and other South Pacific areas. Today, modern Muay Thai is typically a ring sport where gloves that are similar to boxing gloves are used. Muay Thai is a common part of mixed martial arts training as well and many MMA trainers now use Muay Thai bags in their facilities.
The main idea behind Muay Thai is that you have eight different body spots that you can use to attack an opponent. The hands and feet make up four and the other four are made up by savage attacks from the elbow and knee.
Because these attacks are more unique than other forms of fighting and martial arts, Muay Thai requires specialized training and equipment. This is where the Muay Thai bag comes in; it is a heavy hanging bag that is designed to meet the needs of all Muay Thai practicers.
When compared to a traditional boxing bag, a Muay Thai bag is longer and thinner. Bag height is usually between five and six feet long; this length accommodates to high and low kicks and punches. As for the diameter, it is designed to be the same size as a person; this enables the practicing of holds.
As for weight, it has similar weight ranges like most heavy boxing bags. On average, most Muay Thai bags are at least eighty pounds; making them ideal for extreme fighters, as well as lots of kicks and punches.
Unlike most other heavy bags for boxing or martial arts, Muay Thai bags are shipped to both homes and gums unfilled. This not only reduces the cost of shipping, but it gives all trainers and home users the ability to customize the bag filling.
As hanging bags, Muay Thai bags are subject to more force and they need to be able to withstand that force. It is because of this force that many Muay Thai trainers use different fillers. Most trainers fill the bottom of the bag with sand because it is dense and will keep the bag from moving if that mass is centered low.
After that sand, the bag is usually filled with rags, rice, or flour. Each has a different benefit and reason or being included in the bag. For example, cloth rags easily absorb all blows; flower has a similar feel to stand when in the bag; rice is a good compromise between the two.
As for Muay Thai, it is an exciting sport where you get amazing hits not seen elsewhere. Since this form of martial arts is unique, it is no wonder that they had to develop specialize equipment; this equipment, including Muay Thai heavy bags, can be found in some of the best gyms and mixed martial arts training facilities around the globe.
Will hanging a couple of heavy quilts on the wall help soften my neighbor's bass?
Will the quilts help or do you have other suggestions? I have carpet on the floor.
I am assuming you are in an apartment.. right? What I would do is go over, and knock on the door.. When they answer the door.. ask them very politely to turn the bass down. If you approch it this way, more then likely they will oblige your request. Its not what you say.. but how you say it!
Good luck!
Air Force Wants To Wear Computers (After Army Took Them Off) (Wired)
The Army spent 20 years trying to strap 'wearable computers' onto its body
armor to link soldiers together while they went on dismounted patrols. The end
result: junking the heavy communications gear in favor of a system based
around a smartphone. But now the Air Force, bizarrely, wants to pick up where
the Army unsuccessfully left off.
